A Volume. A Void. A Birdhouse?

This vessel is inspired by the combination of a kitchen garden and a kitchen tile. A way to grow your herbs next to your sink.

The biggest problem I ran into was that the opening to my tile was smaller than the form creating the void, which made for a difficult reveal process that would have been impossible with a wooden frame.

I used a mix of 3 parts sand to 1 part cement and I wish I had used a little more cement to get a smoother finish. Here is a photo of the tile all planted up!
